The 45 Degree Automatic Flammability Tester is used to test the burning performance of textiles. The stainless steel test chamber is equipped with a glass observation window and automatic timing from the start of the sample burning, accurate to 0.1 s. The ignition time can be set freely. At present, the 45 Degree Automatic Flammability Tester is widely used in the textile and material industry and the frequency is also very high, so in the long-term use process, the kind of wear and tear and consumption is inevitable, so it must be regularly maintained.

Principle

Under the specified conditions, the specimen is placed diagonally at an angle of 45 °, the specimen ignition ls, the specimen will be flamed upward a certain distance of time required to burn, as a measure to assess the degree of burning intensity of the textile. With the surface pile of the fabric, the bottom cloth ignition or melt as an additional indicator of the degree of burning intensity, but need to be noted.

Equipment and materials

1 Flammability tester

Instrument consists of a ventilated box, which is equipped with ignition device, specimen frame and specimen clip (see Figure 2), automatic timer.

a. The specimen holder is tilted at an angle of 45°, and its relative position to the front of the flame can be adjusted according to the different thicknesses of the specimens.

b. Gas burner, made of 4 1/2 gauge syringe needles.

c. Timer can be automatically timed and accurate to 0.1s.

Brushing device

For specimen preparation of pile or tufted fabrics. It consists of a suitable sliding frame for placing specimen clips and a weight-bearing nylon brush mounted vertically on the specimen surface. Four wheels are installed under the sliding frame, which can be moved along the front and rear direction of the specimen, and its moving distance is slightly more than the exposed length of the specimen. And equipped with a guide for the sliding wheels to move.

a. The brush consists of two rows of nylon bristle clusters with diameter o.41 mm, each cluster has 20 bristles, 4 clusters per 25 mm, and the two rows of bristle clusters are staggered. The bristle clusters are flat and the length is 19 mm.

b. The bristles are mounted on a frame which exerts a pressure of 150 g on the specimen downward.

c. Constant temperature oven.

d. Drier 250mm inner diameter.

e. Marking thread Mercerized cotton sewing thread (12tex×3).

f Butane (chemically pure).

Operation procedure

a. Take out a specimen clip from the desiccator that has been loaded with specimens, place it on the specimen holder inside the tester, put the marker thread through the wire guide hook of the flat plate of the specimen holder, and then hang a heavy hammer on the marker thread just below the wire guide ring to make it taut.

b. Close the door of the test chamber. Set the timer to zero, press the start button, the timer starts to record the time, so that the flame contact with the surface of the specimen 1 s. When the flame burns to the mark line hanging in the upper part of the specimen, the hammer falls because the line is burned off, the timer stops timing, and accurately record the burning time shown in the timer. Remove the specimen from the dryer to ignite the specimen time shall not exceed 45s.

c. The test should be observed in the burning condition of the specimen. If the combustion is incomplete, the back of the specimen should be observed for signs of charring or melting.

Any instrument is inseparable from the maintenance, maintenance can not only extend the life of the instrument, but also make the performance of the instrument does not quickly aging and become unjingzhun.

a. Before use must pay attention to the power supply voltage used to match. When using, the power outlet grounding wire must be grounded according to regulations.

b. When using, do not touch the electrical parts of the instrument with your hands to avoid electric shock.

c. Regularly clean the surface of the 45 Degree Automatic Flammability Tester and dust inside the box.

d. Periodically check the ammeter for abnormalities.

e.Regularly check whether the fan is running normally and whether there is any abnormal sound.

f.Periodically check whether the vent is plugged and clean the dust.

g.Periodically check whether the thermostat is jingzhun, if not jingzhun, please adjust the static compensation or sensor correction value of the thermostat.

h. Periodically check whether there is any abnormality in the heating tube.

i. Periodically check whether the delay timer is jingzhun.

j. Unplug when the power is out to prevent automatic start when the call comes.
