AATCC Rotary Rubbing Color Fastness Tester (rotary crockmeter) is a model commonly used in the textile industry to test the dry and wet rubbing color fastness of fabrics, especially printed fabrics. Equipped with a friction head with a diameter of 16mm and a pressure of 1143 grams. The friction head rubs clockwise for 1.125 turns and then rubs counterclockwise, and the operating handle can only rotate in one direction.
A. The diameter of the friction head is: 16mm;

1. Color fastness to dry rubbing:
1.1. Turn the upper part of the instrument so that the vertical rod is in a horizontal position.
1.2. Cut a piece of test cloth on the standard white cotton cloth, the size should be able to wrap the friction head and lock it with spring clips (200 pieces of standard test cloth are sent from the factory, no cutting is required). Wrap the test cloth over the friction head and secure it with spring clips.
1.3. Place the sample on the bottom of the instrument. Regardless of the sample structure, as long as it can provide a surface area greater than or equal to 2.5 square centimeters, it can be tested. Specimens need not be cut to specific dimensions. Adjust the position of the sample so that the friction head can touch the part of the sample to be rubbed.
1.4. Put the upper part of the instrument back to its original position, and the friction head touches the part to be rubbed of the sample.
1.5. Install a weight on the vertical rod so that the vertical rod can exert a pressure of 1143g on the sample. Hold the specimen with your left hand and turn the handle with your right hand. Turning the handle 20 turns causes a corresponding 40 turns of the vertical rod.
1.6. Take off the weight, tilt the upper part of the instrument, and take out the sample and white cotton cloth for testing. Evaluation of S sticking on white cotton cloth.
1.7. When evaluating, place the white cotton cloth to be tested on three layers of white cotton cloth of the same material, and use the AATCC color card or colored gray card to evaluate the color fastness of the sample.
2. Color fastness to wet rubbing
2.1 Wetting treatment of the sample: Wet the sample with distilled water, sandwich the sample between filter papers and pass through the extruder, or remove excess water by any other convenient means.
2.2 The rest of the operation steps are the same as dry rubbing.
2.3 After the wet test is completed, the sample should be allowed to dry naturally in the air before evaluating the sample.
3.1 It should be noted that the degree of color sticking will be more serious at the edge of the circle than at the center of the circle
3.2 Assess the degree of color sticking to the rounded edge.
3.3 Classify the wet and dry test results respectively.
3.4 Surfaces are tested wet or dry.
3.5 Indicates whether gray or colored cards were used for the assessment.
