Composition of protective clothing vertical flame spread tester
The protective clothing vertical flame spread tester is mainly composed of the following parts:
Combustion system
- **Burners**: usually use improved Bunsen burners or other special burners, such as propane or butane burners, and the burners are equipped with flame height meters and light guides, which can accurately control and measure the flame height.
- **Gas supply device**: including gas bottles, pressure reducing valves, solenoid valves, gas pipes, etc., to provide a stable gas supply for the burner to ensure the stability and repeatability of the flame.
Sample fixing system
- **Sample rack**: Made of corrosion-resistant and fire-proof materials such as stainless steel, it is used to fix the protective clothing material samples so that the samples are suspended vertically above the burner, and can ensure that the samples do not move, curl or fold during the test.
- **Sample clamp**: used in conjunction with the sample rack to clamp the sample. Its size is usually designed according to standard requirements, such as the common 160mm×200mm or 80mm×200mm, etc.
Control system
- **PLC control system**: Automatically control the test process through programming, such as controlling the ignition and extinguishing of the burner, adjusting the flame height, setting the test time, etc.
- **Touch screen operation interface**: As a human-machine interaction interface, the operator can intuitively set the test parameters, view the test status and results through the touch screen, and realize menu-based operation.
Timing and measurement system
- **Timing device**: It can accurately record the time from the ignition of the sample to the extinguishing or reaching the specified test time, and the timing accuracy can usually reach 0.1 second or higher.
- **Flame height measurement device**: Generally, the dynamic change of the flame height is measured by a scale with a scale or an optical sensor to ensure that the flame height meets the test standard requirements.
- **Burn length measurement device**: It is used to determine the carbonization length of the sample surface after the flame is burned after the test. It is usually determined by marking the initial position on the sample and then measuring the distance between the carbonized part and the initial mark.
Safety protection and auxiliary system
- **Combustion box**: Generally made of stainless steel, it has good corrosion resistance and sealing performance. It is equipped with a glass observation window inside to facilitate observation of the combustion of the sample and prevent leakage of flames and hot air.
- **Ventilation system**: Timely discharge the exhaust gas and smoke generated by combustion to keep the test environment clean and safe.
- **Data recording and processing system**: It can automatically record and store test data, such as combustion time, flame height, carbonization length, etc., and can generate test reports for subsequent analysis and evaluation.
