Maintenance of protective clothing vertical flame spread tester
1. **Daily Cleaning**
- **External Cleaning**: After each use, wipe the external surface of the tester, including the body, operation panel, observation window, etc., with a clean, soft, damp cloth to remove dust, stains, and possible residual combustion products. For stains that are difficult to remove, a small amount of mild detergent can be used, but avoid the detergent from entering the inside of the instrument.
- **Internal Cleaning**: Open the instrument housing regularly (recommended once a month) (when the power is off and it is safe to do so), and use small cleaning tools such as a soft brush and a small vacuum cleaner to clean the dust and debris inside. Focus on cleaning the burner, sample fixture, and the area around the vents, as these areas are prone to dirt accumulation.
2. **Burner Maintenance**
- **Flame Port Cleaning**: After each test, the flame port of the burner may have carbon deposits or other impurities. After the burner cools down, carefully clean the flame port with a special cleaning needle or fine steel wire to ensure that the flame can be ejected normally and has a regular shape.
- **Gas Path Inspection**: Regularly (every 3-6 months) check the gas path, including the gas pipe, joints, and valves. Check whether the air pipe is damaged, aged or blocked, whether the joint is tight, and whether the valve can be opened and closed normally. If any problems are found, the air pipe should be replaced or the valve should be repaired in time.
3. **Maintenance of sample fixture**
- **Check the accuracy of the sample fixture**: Check the accuracy of the sample fixture regularly to ensure that it can fix the sample vertically and flatly. If the fixture is deformed or loose, it may affect the test results of the sample. You can use a standard size sample or gauge to check the dimensional accuracy of the fixture. If deviation is found, the fixture should be adjusted or replaced in time.
- **Clean the surface of the fixture**: The surface of the fixture should be kept clean to avoid residual fibers, glue or other impurities that affect the fixation of the sample. After each use, wipe the surface of the fixture with a clean cloth. For impurities that are difficult to remove, you can use a small amount of organic solvent (such as ethanol) to wipe it, but pay attention to safety to avoid fire and poisoning.
4. **Electrical system maintenance**
- **Electrical component inspection**: Check the electrical components in the instrument, such as PLC controllers, touch screens, sensors, etc. Check whether the components are overheated, damaged or malfunctioning. You can observe the working status of the component and use professional testing equipment (such as a multimeter) to check whether the parameters of the component are normal. For components with problems, they should be replaced in time.
5. **Calibration and accuracy check**
- **Flame height calibration**: Regularly (every 3-6 months) use a standard flame height gauge to calibrate the flame height of the burner. Place the gauge near the flame port of the burner, adjust the gas flow according to the method in the instrument operation manual, so that the flame height reaches the standard value, and record the calibration data.
- **Timing accuracy calibration**: Use a high-precision timing device (such as an electronic stopwatch) to compare and calibrate with the timing device of the tester. Check whether the timing accuracy of the timing device is within the allowable error range (for example, the error does not exceed ±0.1 seconds). If a timing deviation is found, the timing device should be adjusted according to the instrument's instructions.
6. **Ventilation system maintenance**
- **Cleaning ventilation ducts**: Regularly (every 3-6 months) clean the ventilation ducts to prevent dust and combustion products from clogging the ducts. A small vacuum cleaner or compressed air gun can be used to clean the inside of the duct to ensure the smooth flow of the ventilation system.
- **Check the working status of the fan**: Check whether the fan in the ventilation system can work normally, including the fan speed, air volume and noise. If the fan is found to be working abnormally, such as the speed drops, the air volume is insufficient or the noise is too loud, the fan motor, impeller and other parts should be checked in time for repair or replacement.
