Catheter Burst Pressure Tester

The Catheter Burst Pressure Tester is designed for evaluating the pressure resistance and integrity performance of intravascular medical catheters under controlled fluid conditions. It is widely used for performance testing of disposable intravascular catheters, high-pressure angiographic catheters, central venous catheters, balloon dilation catheters, and peripheral catheters with introducer sheaths.
Application
(1) Burst pressure testing of intravascular catheters
(2) Flow performance evaluation under high-pressure injection conditions
(3) Quality control of medical catheter production
(4) Performance verification of angiographic and infusion catheter systems
(5) Laboratory and regulatory testing of catheter safety characteristics
Standards
(1) YY/T 1536-2017
(2) YY 0285.1-2017
(3) GB/T 15812.1-2005
Working Principle
The system applies controlled hydraulic pressure to the catheter system using a precision pressurization unit under a constant temperature water bath (37 ± 1 °C). Pressure is gradually increased until catheter failure or leakage occurs. The burst pressure is recorded as the maximum pressure sustained before structural failure. Flow performance under pressure is also monitored during testing.
