The Leather Water Vapor Permeability Testing Machine measures the rate of water vapor transmission through leather or textile materials. This evaluation helps determine the material's ability to remove perspiration from the wearer’s skin, making it essential for footwear uppers, clothing, and performance textiles.

The machine features six separate test stations mounted on a rotary table. Each station holds a sample over a silica gel desiccant holder, which is weighed before and after the test to determine vapor permeability. The system includes a built-in timer, ventilation fan, and control panel for time setting and recording.

Operation Principle

Fill each holder with silica gel and secure the test sample over the holder.

Weigh the complete assembly and place it on the rotary table.

The machine rotates the holders for 7–8 hours under controlled conditions (20°C, 65% RH).

Reweigh the holders to calculate water vapor transmitted, which reflects the material’s permeability.
