Light color fastness tester is a physical performance testing instrument used in the fields of chemistry and food science and technology.
Introduction to the test method of light color fastness meter:
definition
Color fastness to light refers to the color of textiles and their ability to withstand natural conditions such as sunlight and rain. There are two main tests,
(1) Light fastness test of dyes: The light fastness test of dyes is carried out under light and certain temperature and humidity conditions.
(2) Weather fastness test of dyes: Under the joint influence of light, certain temperature, humidity and rain, the weather fastness of dyes is measured.
(3) Light fastness and perspiration composite test of dye: Expose the sample treated with sweat in the instrument, then evaluate its light fastness and light fastness, perspiration composite color fastness, and determine its sensitivity to light.
Generally, xenon lamps are used to simulate sunlight (different countries and regions have different standards, such as AATCC, ASTM, ISO, GB, etc. use xenon lamps, Australian British standards use mercury tungsten lamps, and Japanese standards use carbon arc lamps), and UV aging, etc. ; Control the specific temperature and humidity in the experimental equipment, and also need to be able to simulate rainy weather, equipped with a water sprinkler system that simulates rainy days.

Introduction to Test Method
Textiles are usually exposed to light when they are used. Light energy destroys dyes and causes the well-known "fading", which causes colored textiles to change color, generally lightening, darkening, and some will also change shades. Therefore, color fastness needs to be checked. The test of color fastness to light is to put the sample and the blue wool standard cloth of different fastness grades together under the specified conditions (certain temperature, humidity, or rain, etc., different standards have different requirements) Next, carry out sunlight exposure, compare the sample with the blue wool cloth, and evaluate the color fastness to light. The higher the grade of the blue wool standard cloth, the more light fast it is.
