High response speed:
Photovoltaic simulator has a current loop speed of up to 500kHz and supports 250Hz MPPT speed. Its IV curve consists of up to 4096 data points which closely matches the real output of the photovoltaic array. The real output of the photovoltaicpanel strictly follows its IV curve. When the MPPT tracking frequency increases, if the response speed of the simulator (power supply) is too slow, it will not be able to track the IVcurve, and the reliability of the test results is under doubt. Under the condition of high MPPT tracking frequency of the solar array simulator series PV simulator, the output still accurately conforms to the preset IV curve.
Low noise of output current:
The high fundamental frequency noise of the PV simulator affects theMPPT and current sampling precision of the inverter.
5 PV modes
Solar Array Simulator series has 5 built-in PV modes. You can operate it on the front panel. With the built-in IV curves models of multiple regulations, four-pointmethod, table tracing point method, fixed mode or list programming, it can simulate the output of solar array IV curve, big screen graphical display, and real-time view of MPPT status of micro-inverter, power optimizer and other DUTs. In addition, you can import model files via a USB. Whenmultiple channels operations are required, you can use PV software, very convenient.
FAQ
(1) What is the purpose of a Solar Array Simulator?
A Solar Array Simulator is used to replace real photovoltaic panels during laboratory testing by reproducing their electrical output characteristics. It allows engineers to evaluate PV inverters, micro-inverters, power optimizers, and MPPT controllers under controlled and repeatable conditions.
(2) What photovoltaic devices can be tested with this simulator?
The Solar Array Simulator is mainly used for testing micro-inverters, power optimizers, string inverters, energy storage systems, and other photovoltaic power conversion devices. It helps verify efficiency, MPPT performance, dynamic response, and system reliability.
(3) How does the Solar Array Simulator simulate different solar conditions?
The system can reproduce different photovoltaic I-V curves by changing simulation parameters related to irradiation, temperature, shading, and aging effects. Users can load existing models or configure PV characteristics through the control software.
(4) What advantages does a Solar Array Simulator have compared with outdoor PV testing?
Compared with outdoor testing, the simulator provides stable and repeatable test conditions without being affected by weather, sunlight fluctuation, or installation limitations. It improves testing efficiency and allows precise comparison between different photovoltaic devices.
(5) How do I choose the right Solar Array Simulator for photovoltaic testing?
Selection should consider the tested device type, required voltage and power range, MPPT response requirements, number of test channels, and applicable standards. For inverter, micro-inverter, and power optimizer testing, the suitable model should match the electrical characteristics of the target PV system.
