Introduction and usage of BS3084 zipper tester

G301R zipper tester is used to test the load pull times of zippers, which can meet multiple standards such as QB/T 2171/2172/2173, BS 3084, AS 2332, NF G91-005, JIS S3015, DIN 3419-1, SATRA TM50, etc. Among them, BS 3084:2006 slide fasteners (Zips)-specification is the British zipper testing standard, which is generally applicable in the UK because of its strict and reasonable requirements, and is also a common standard for zipper testing.

Scope of application:

The zipper reciprocating pull test machine is used to test the load pull times of the zipper, that is, to test the resistance of the zipper when it is pulled back and forth at a certain speed. Under the action of horizontal and vertical tension, the instrument tests whether the zipper can withstand the specified number of reciprocating pulling operations. During the test, the machine drives the slider of the zipper at a constant speed to make reciprocating motions 30 times per minute until the specified number of times.

The instrument consists of a set of fixtures, a reciprocating transmission system and a display system. The instrument reciprocates the sample 30 times/min, and the speed can also be customized (20 times/min, 25 times/min, 35 times/min and 40 times/min), the stroke of the instrument is 75mm, the horizontal width of the test fixture is 25mm, and the vertical width 10mm, the angle between the teeth of the clamping surface is 60°, and the total weight of the longitudinal clamping device is 0.28-0.34kg. The test range zipper specification is within 3.5-12mm.

Specific test method:

a. Turn on the power switch and adjust the knob so that the clamping device of the pull tab is at the lowest position, and the indicator light of the lowest position is on at this time.

b. Choose a positioning piece of appropriate thickness and fix it on the slider of the zipper, fix the slider of the zipper on the pressure piece, and lock it firmly.

c. Roughly fix the tail end (bottom end) of the zipper on the upper chuck first. Fix the front end (top end) of the zipper on the two longitudinal chucks.

d. Slightly loosen the upper clamp, pull up the tail end of the zipper so that the horizontal line of the longitudinal clamping device is parallel to the horizontal piece, and then lock the upper clamp.

e. Loosen the two horizontal clamps, put the cloth tapes on both sides of the zipper into the two clamps, and clamp them. The distance between the jaws and the teeth feet is about 5mm.

f. Adjust the tension of the longitudinal and transverse spring scales respectively according to the standard.

g. Set the number of tests and press Start to start the test.

h. After reaching the number of automatic shutdown, remove the sample and observe the damage degree of the sample
