Martindale Abrasion Tester can test the abrasion resistance and pilling performance of fabrics with various structures. The sample is subjected to low-pressure continuous reversing friction with a certain friction material, and the degree of wear and pilling can be compared with the standard parameters for evaluation. Many users are not very familiar with its operation, the following Standard Group (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. will introduce to you:
1. Sample preparation:
Cut a round sample with a diameter of 38 mm from the sample with a sampler.
Before the test, the sample shall be placed in a constant temperature and humidity environment middle note humidity.
2. Place a 140mm standard felt and 140mm standard friction fabric on each grinding table.
3. Press the fabric and felt flat with the weight, fasten the ring clamp, remove the weight, and avoid the fabric curling when installing the sample. Put the sample in the sample holder. If the weight of the sample is less than 500g/㎡, it is necessary to pad a new piece of polyurethane foam plastic. If the weight of the sample is more than 500g/㎡, it is not necessary to pad foam lining.
4. Place the sample clamp on the friction table, and then add the required pressure. For clothing fabrics, add 9 ± 0.2kpa pressure, and for decorative fabrics, add 12 ± 0.3kpa pressure. Preset the appropriate number of times to start the machine.
5. After the instrument is stopped, observe the sample and estimate the number of continuous friction. When approaching the end of the experiment, reduce the number of friction, and carefully cut the rough particles on the sample with scissors.
Special precautions:
The abrasive and foam shall be replaced after each test.
